Trust & Security

We believe trust is built on transparency. Here's exactly how we protect your money and your data.

Section 1

Our Regulatory Journey

We're doing this the right way — applying for full FCA authorisation before launching our service.

Company Incorporated

Lanova Pay Ltd — Company No. 15855855, registered in England & Wales

ICO Registered

Registration Number: ZB901334

FCA Authorisation

Application submitted — Firm Reference Number: 936012. Under review.

Section 2

How Your Money is Protected

Customer funds are safeguarded — held in a ring-fenced account at a UK bank, completely separate from our operating funds.

What does "safeguarded" mean?

Under UK Payment Services Regulations 2017, we are required to keep your money in a separate account. If LanovaPay were to cease operations, these funds would be returned to you — they cannot be used to pay our debts or creditors.

⚠️ Important: FSCS does not apply

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) does not cover payment institution customers. This is true for all UK payment institutions, including Wise, Revolut, and others. Safeguarding provides an alternative layer of protection.

Section 3

Your Data

We collect only what we need, keep it encrypted, and never sell it.

Section 4

How We Verify Identity

UK regulations require us to verify who you are before you send money. Here's what we check and why.

📸

Document Check

Passport, driving licence, or BRP — verified against government databases

🤳

Biometric Liveness

A quick selfie to confirm you're a real person, not a stolen ID

🏠

Address Verification

Proof of UK address — utility bill, bank statement, or council tax

The entire process takes under 5 minutes and is processed by our verification partner.

Section 5

Sanctions & AML

We screen every transaction against UK and international sanctions lists. This isn't optional — it's the law, and it's the right thing to do.

  • HM Treasury sanctions list screening
  • PEP (Politically Exposed Person) checks
  • Ongoing transaction monitoring
  • Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to the NCA
  • Staff AML training programme
Section 6
